Learning Sequence with the Three Storey IntellectOne function of the Three Storey Intellect is to ensure that we employ a common language of learning across the school - students use the same words to refer to their learning in each subject and this helps students to understand how their learning links from one subject to the next.
Continuing to develop our use of the Three Storey Intellect, we are looking to encourage students to think more consciously about the three different levels of learning that comprise the TSI. During the 2014-15 academic year, we will be asking our teachers to draw the attention of students to the level at which they are learning at different stages in their lesson. As time goes on, students will understand more clearly how they learn and learning becomes something that they do, rather than ever being something that is done to them! |
As well as this, we also feel that the concept of 'Learning Sequences' is very important - the way in which the learning links together during a lesson and helps students to make progress. The presentation below identifies some of the most common learning sequences that take place in our school (or any other school). At Sedgefield Community College, by ensuring that we think deeply about the learning sequences that are taking place, we ensure that the learning potential is maximised!
